Proof Carrie Underwood Is the Queen of Outfit Changes on Stage

Carrie Underwood likely knew the pressure was on to find the most glamorous dresses for the 2016 CMA Awards. After all, last year was her ninth time cohosting with Brad Paisley. Carrie chose not one, not two, but 10 looks for the show — all reminiscent of decades of the past. Paying tribute to singers like Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire, Carrie's outfits included beading, sequin embellishments, and colorful sparkles.

One of our favorite looks was a gold and silver ombré caftan dress by Antoine Salameh Labourjoisie (FYI: he also created Kendall Jenner's 21st birthday dress). The designer said, "This dress shines perfect on stage. I love the sheer ombré details mixed with the movement of the fringe on the sleeves."

For the red carpet, however, Carrie chose a poufier, dusty-pink gown by Michael Cinco. Instead of short, body-hugging dresses like the ones she wore on stage, Carrie wore a princess-style beaded ball gown. Michael revealed to us that he has worked with Carrie in the past and that "this [look] is completely different than anything I have ever seen her in." We have to agree. On the red carpet, Carrie Underwood wore a Michael Cinco gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals, pearls, and scattered organza flowers. She accessorized with Butani diamond earrings, a Hearts on Fire diamond ring, and a Harry Kotlar diamond ring.

She took the stage in a beaded, red column gown with co-host Brad Paisley. This dress, she revealed was a tribute to singer Reba McEntire.

The singer also wore a sparkling one-shoulder gown that draped to the floor.

For her performance of "Dirty Laundry," Carrie changed into an edgier menswear-inspired outfit.

Carrie wore a beaded, ombre caftan dress by Labourjoisie.

Carrie later changed into a sparkly minidress and wore an Atelier Swarovski ring. ($249)

Carrie wore a shimmering halter fringe gown by Jovani Signature.

As she took the stage to accept her award, Carrie wore a beaded, gold minidress with Coomi jewelry.

Behind the scenes, Carrie posed with her award and opted for a classic black halter gown without any embellishments.
