Rihanna Is the Latest Star to Be Completely Spoiled by Runway Designers

Sure, having a dress custom-made by a designer is a sure sign you've made it (we're looking at you, Lupita). But another way to know you've arrived? When your red carpet dress is ripped right off the runway. Such a feat means the designer is willing to lend a prized sample from his or her collection, as is. (And here we're sometimes nervous about letting a friend borrow a two-seasons-old Zara top!)

And what better way to showcase some of Fashion Week's latest creations than having the likes of Rihanna serve as your celebrity model? That's what's happened with emerging designers and fashion friends alike this season. And she's not alone in getting first dibs. From Emma Stone in Altuzarra to Sienna Miller in Oscar de la Renta, we've charted every celeb who got to wear a designer's Fall 2015 collection first.

It's clear even Rihanna is aware of how lucky she is! When she attended the NBA All-Star event, the singer — who enlists Selman to create all of her tour costumes — rocked a skintight pink "Spoiled" ensemble and matching hairstyle from the designer's latest New York Fashion Week runway show.

The actress, who has said she's never owned a ball gown, certainly loves wearing the formal frocks from the New York designer. She hit up the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in a stone-blue halter gown from his most recent collection.

There's perhaps no better fashion pairing than the British rebel model and the British rebel designer. But they still left us surprised when Cara attended the Elle Style Awards not in some punk send-off, but in a sleek black gown from the Red Label show.

The model loves a sparkly mini, so it's a good thing she's longtime pals with the British designer behind this gold confection. Instead of going with his downtown styling, she paired it with strappy sandals and a strong black blazer.

Even the most wearable separates get the full runway-to-red-carpet treatment. The singer opted to wear the layered look from Stuart Vevers's latest Coach collection as is — and pair it with Coach shoes and accessories — in a nod to the expert styling behind the brand's recent runway show.

Rihanna doesn't limit her wardrobe to the biggest names in fashion. In fact, she attended Kanye West's Adidas show in a getup by a virtually unknown Swiss designer. Seeman presented her very first collection at New York Fashion Week just one day earlier through VFiles, a fashion platform that plucks young, imaginative designers from Internet obscurity and provides them the opportunity to put on a fully produced show.

You know you have clout when you can wear a London Fashion Week runway dress to a London Fashion Week party. Taylor Swift hit up not one but two industry events in the emerald green confection: the Elle Style Awards and the Naked Heart Foundation's Fashion Fair.

The British It girl has her pick from most designers, but her clout is particularly far-reaching with the London fashion heavyweights. So it was no surprise she was able to wear this ultra-feminine printed frock by Erdem Moralıoğlu one day after his runway show – to present him with a Designer of the Year award, no less.

Ah, the perks of dating a designer! The statuesque Game of Thrones star made quite the statement when she wore a dramatic printed cape from the collection of her boyfriend, Giles Deacon, to a London Fashion Week event.

It pays to be pals with Joseph Altuzarra! The designer gave the Birdman actress the golden red Tibetan Wave "Aurelia" dress from his most recent New York Fashion Week runway show to wear to the Vanity Fair Oscars party. Although she didn't opt for the matching thigh-high boots, her choice of footwear was definitely more her style.

The first runway show without the brand's namesake surely struck a nerve, because a week didn't go by before the star plucked this black lace dress from Peter Coppins's debut collection at the helm of Oscar de la Renta. Structured yet delicate, the dress — adorned with velvet bows — made a sweet yet sexy statement on the Oscars red carpet.

It takes a designer with a high-wattage collection to catch the eye of Solange. And although Christian Siriano's latest offering had his requisite princess gowns, this piece seemed destined for the risk-taking singer. On anyone else, this bold, oversize coral pantsuit – complete with a top that flowed into a billowing train – would have been too much, but for the singer, it was the perfect Oscars red carpet statement.

For the Independent Spirit Awards, the actress called on Monique Lhuillier to provide her with a perfect LBD. This one, with a black lace bodice that exposed her sides and attached to a floral jacquard midi skirt, had slight modifications to the runway look but was just as polished.
