Rihanna Is the Latest Star to Shop the Spring Runway

When you see something you love on the runway, you anxiously wait months until it makes its way to a department store, and then – if you can afford it – you throw down some serious cash to make it yours. If you're a celebrity, with designer friends on speed dial, the process is a little different. And in Rihanna's case, she likely called in a favor to Joseph Altuzarra so that she could be the first to wear the pink gingham suit from his Spring 2015 collection. (Just like the look from the catwalk, she also opted to forgo a shirt underneath, but would you expect anything less?)

Of course, she isn't the only star to shop a look right off the runway in record time. Some of fashion's favorites leading ladies, like Michelle Williams, Emma Stone, and Gwyneth Paltrow, have also been spotted out and about in Spring 2015 clothes. We're charting all the stars, models, and industry insiders – in order of speedy turnaround – who are giving next Spring's designer pieces their first taste of the real world. We had to do a double-take when we glimpsed a model head down the catwalk in this black-polka-dotted floral gown. Didn't we see this on the red carpet already? Turns out we had. The young star must have done something right to score a version of the dress for a premiere nearly two weeks before it made its official debut.

Talk about perks. You know you've got some pull when you can wear a look from the runway to the label's actual runway show. And when you have the confidence to style it differently.

It was hard to tell this wasn't the runway look, it happened so soon after. The Russian model wore the colorful maxi dress to a fashion party in Milan.

Attending the same Milan Fashion Week event as Natasha, Poppy also borrowed from one of Italy's foremost designers. Too bad the Cavalli show happened earlier in the day than Pucci . . . She lost the "who got it quickest?" contest by seven hours.

It pays to be good pals with fashion designers, as the actress is with Prabal. She turned to him to dress her for a New York Fashion Week party in what might be the ultimate conversation starter — a right-off-the-runway frock.

The star actually walked the Balmain runway show in two sexy looks, but when it came time to dress for a Paris Fashion Week book launch party, she wisely chose to diversify with another look, a striped black and yellow jumpsuit that was worn on the catwalk by fellow model Jourdan Dunn.

When you've worn a custom dress from the label for your secret wedding ceremony, you are pretty much guaranteed to be at the top of its VIP list. Which is why the actress snagged a slew of Valentino dresses, including this printed red number, for her latest promotional tour.

We're not going to lie: we wondered if some of the looks from the Christian Dior Spring 2015 show would ever see the red side of a carpet, nevermind less than two weeks after it debuted! The French actress, always up for a fashion-forward look, was the perfect person to try on the pale blue dress coat and long black shorts.

Although it looks like Jessica Seinfeld wore the label's Spring 2015 safety-pin-inspired ensemble for her birthday dinner just three days after the show, the award for first red carpet appearance goes to the model — who also wins for most times wearing a designer's runway look first!

It's not just the 20-something fashion It girls who pull in serious designer perks. The seasoned actress has proved herself quite the red carpet knockout and didn't disappoint when wearing this embellished sheer purple dress to a United Nations gala.

Although last year Gwyneth blew all other celebs out of the water by wearing a Stella McCartney Spring 2014 dress a whopping 37 days before the designer's show, she still didn't disappoint by donning Roland Mouret's white cocktail dress less than two weeks after it appeared on the Paris runway.

On the same day that Gwyneth was the first to wear Roland Mouret, she refused to stop there. Later that night, she let her fashion white-out continue when she stepped out in another right-off-the-runway look from Versace.

She's the face of Louis Vuitton, so we weren't surprised that the actress was the first to wear a look from the fashion house, especially considering she wore it to the French opening of Foundation Louis Vuitton. But we were impressed with her choice: we didn't think many celebs would dare to try this quirky print. Note the eyelash curlers, rotary telephone, salt and pepper shakers, and nail polish!

Following Rosie's lead, the actress found another label willing to let her be the first to wear its Spring 2015 duds. This time, she turned up at a premiere in a brand-new black-and-white look from the emerging London-based designer.

The British actress stuck to her roots by scouting the London Fashion Week runways for a look to wear to the red carpet premiere of her new show. She also proved that white truly is seasonless by wearing the designer's sheer top and layered skirt to the Fall event.

The star's striking, darker sense of glamour made her a natural for carrying off the moody two-piece ensemble from Alexander Wang's latest collection for Balenciaga. She wore the sultry crop top and sheer skirt to the Trash premiere at the Rome Film Festival, and it may have been the event's showstopping moment.

They're longtime collaborators, so it was no surprise that the actress turned up to a movie premiere in a J. Mendel creation. Although it was nearly a month after the look hit the New York runway, being the first to snag something from the perennial red carpet designer was still quite the coup.

It's not atypical for stylists to take a runway look and spice it up for the red carpet. The actress had about a month to tweak this sweet cutout Delpozo dress, which debuted atop a conservative, crisp white button-down, into a sexy, midriff-baring frock.

It's not quite fair that Emma Stone can pull off so many tricky colors, any shade of green being among them. So we weren't surprised she was the first to try the glittering olive-green and black look from the New York-based designer.

In one of the most touching Spring 2015 runway-to-red-carpet debuts, the actress unknowingly wore this feminine lace dress the day that its famed designer died. While she won't be the last star to wear one of the designer's creations, she'll be the last to do so with him still at the helm of the iconic fashion house.

This pink gingham skirt suit was certainly a bit feminine for Rihanna's typically edgy style, but she was smart to follow suit with the runway styling – sans shirt underneath, it was a sexy take on an otherwise prim idea.
