Gigi and Bella Hadid Made Their Chanel Couture Debut — and It Was Flawless

The world of Chanel Haute Couture is all about extravagance, and Karl Lagerfeld is never one to disappoint. The designer is known for dreaming up new, lavish backdrops for both his couture and ready-to-wear shows. He's done a grand casino, a futuristic cityscape, and more, but today Karl opted for an ecology-themed event. The designer presented this season's Haute Couture collection at the Grand Palais in Paris with a simple garden scene complete with fresh grass and a bright blue sky.

The show marked the first time that sisters Bella and Gigi Hadid walked in a Chanel Haute Couture show, both donning cream-colored, ankle-length white dresses. The duo walked alongside their friend Kendall Jenner along with other industry veterans like Lindsey Wixson and Soo Joo Park.

As for the clothes themselves, as usual it was all in the details. Models donned fanny packs, gauzy capes, and this season's It shoe silhouette , a cork wedge with a round toe. Dresses and suit sets featured shimmering beaded details, and many also had exaggerated shoulders. As we've come to expect from Karl, it was a show that was not only perfect in execution, it was unforgettable all around.
