Charlotte Ronson's twin sister Samantha was kind enough to DJ her Fall 2014 presentation. And with '80s tunes blaring from the venue — a hotel subbasement just south of New York's Columbus Circle — editors assembled in the long line to get in could only assume that the decade gave this collection breath. They were right.
But although Ronson's forthrightly dark selection of clothes drew on the spirit of, say, a John Hughes heroine, they wouldn't have been exactly at home in her closet. While this collection was flirty and trendy and had floral prints and quirky imagery (one velvet dress was covered in what looked like kisses from afar), it was also decidedly modern. The last look, a sheer dress with opaque navy-blue stripes, looked as fresh as new snow.
