Hey, it's Allison McNamara and you're watching Fab Flash at New York Fashion Week. We caught up with designer Charlotte Ronson backstage at her fall 2012 runway show. She told us the inspiration for her cold weather chic collection. What was the inspiration for this? Because it kind of had like a little bit of the Victorian feel of last season, but totally like reinterpreted. I feel it's more of like a modern for a real girl. It was very matchy-matchy, a little bit more polished, kind of veered away from the whole grunge feel that's been underlying most seasons. I mean, it still has the kind of the hard, masculine to kind of toughen up, you know, the dresses with the dickeys and the leather caps and all the leather skirts and pant trousers and the leather belts that tie it up. but it was a lot more polished lady, refined, but also the retro ski feel of like seventies Switzerland, you know, after skiing, not necessarily skiing, but all the knit wear and the matching caps and just kind of... Accessories are always a big part of the collection and this season showed handbags for the very first time. I normally always design belts that go with the dresses and things, and it just kind of...you know, you want to find one or two that just kind of work and you have to make them again and again and add in different colorways and things. But I also design bags, so this was the launch for the bags this season, so they got to go down the runway. So that was like really fun and nice and I think it was just all about being matchy-matchy, so the gloves and it was just all the kind of more lady finishing touches that were important. and when she's not designing, Charlotte has a few interesting hobbies of her own. Well, I taught all my little siblings how to swim, so I guess I'm patient. Okay. I collect stickers and I've got the talent. I make inspiration books. I'm very OCD. Make sure to check out the entire Charlotte Ronson runway show. And come back here for more New York Fashion Week coverage. I'm Allison McNamara and I'll see you next time on Fab Flash on Fab Sugar TV.
