Christian Siriano's show notes said legendary supermodel Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn was his model this season, and the influence clearly showed — the women that walked down his runway were a polished reminder of glamorous eras long past. Nipped waists, hats tilted at jaunty angles, and matched sets aplenty: this was the way women used to travel.
There was a lot of texture, too, from alpaca shirts and jackets, oversize cotton eyelet, lacquered lace, and marbled silk (used to beautiful effect on ball gowns that simply floated by). The shoes weren't left out either, done in lace, brocade, and piled-on sequins that look like they could inflict physical harm. The bottom line? It's clothes your grandmother will love, and you'll want to wear.
