I try to avoid things that are dry-clean only.

Depends: for my day-to-day wear, I prefer items I can machine wash as the funds are not there to dry clean on a regular basis. However if I truly love an item and it fits, I do not care if it is dry clean or "high maintenance", as I know I will adore and care for the item. I do try to take all factors into consideration.

It never even occured to me to consider a piece "high maintenance". I just wear it if I like it and it looks good, never think of the "fuss" -- although I consider comfort levels with clothing if I know I'm going to want to be comfy on a particular day.

If they look high maintenance, but don't require dry cleaning, I am down. I do not like fabrics and designs that require an expensive monthly bill to maintain. Plus, finding a dry cleaner that doesn't have your clothes coming back a pressed mess is a challenge.

i voted that i tend to avoid them, as i tend to dress more casual and less fussy...more classic and easy to manage pieces...however i wouldn't shy away from something just because it's "high-maintenance"...if i loved it, needed it, wanted it i would get it anyway
