Having worked in stores in the past, I know how much work it is to have to put things back in their place after every single customer so out of respect for the staff and to avoid the clothes being damaged, even if I'm not the one responsible for the clothes being on the floor, I always put them back on the rack when I walk past them, I think it's just part of being civilized.

Having worked in retail, it is extremely rude for people who knock things over and don't pick it up, so I always pick stuff up if I dropped it, and sometimes pieces on the floor, and I even hang it back the correct way lol. But if there's a big pile of mess I don't bother.

If there's people around me, then yes. If not, no. It also depends whether or not I'm lazy. haha.

I used to work in a clothing store, so really any little bit helps. I mean if you ave worked in a store, there are enough headaches give you without that being on the to do list at the end and beginning of the day. Plus its just rude to leave it. I mean its not the store's job to pick up the stuff you drop.

I want to throttle anyone who says "they pay people to do that kind of thing"... sorry to those that echoed that sentiment, but they do NOT pay people to be your personal maid. If you drop something and someone steps on it or runs over it with a cart or something, it's ruined! That means money out of your pocket in the long run, because it incurs cost to the business. It's common courtesy, people. You're not above picking up something that you dropped.

I am OCD when it comes to clothes in a messy pile. Sometimes I will start folding shirts at a store...

I'm not really concerned that the clothes are going to get wrinkled or something. It's more a sense of doing what's nice

I used to work in retail, so I know how annoying it is to have to pick up after everyone. I even hang stuff back up on their hangers after I have tried them on or refold them in their piles, but I NEVER put things back from the dressing room, that is NOT helpful to the sales people. I just do anything that I know will help them make their jobs a little easier cause I know it could be me cleaning it up.

I'll pick something up if I dropped it or knocked it over, but not if it's already on the floor.

If I knocked it over/dropped it, sure. I worked retail and I know what a pain it is to clean up after slobs. But I'm also not going to stop shopping to tidy up a pile of shirts that someone else messed up while pawing around for their size... there's a reason I don't work retail any more!

Always...... whether I dropped it on the floor or not.I hate seeing those nice, new, clean clothes being stepped on.

I always pick it up if I've knocked it down. I sometimes pick up items that have fallen due to no fault of my own; only if it's one or two on the floor, never if it's a giant pile.
