Do You Tell Your Man How To Dress?
Mar 30 2009 • By
I would never. I want my guy to have his own sense of style!
my boyfriend has one of the worst senses of style ( or lack thereof) of anyone i've ever met. and he thinks the awful things he likes are "cool"! it's so hard to get past, he isnt really interested in my advice, unlike other guys i've dated. it's a big problem because he doesn't understand i believe it's insulting to not try and look nice for certain occasions :(
Oh and I completely transformed one (ex) boyfriend! When he started law school he was into torn up jeans and band tees from high school. Then I introduced him to Kenneth Cole and a couple of nice outfits from Express one Christmas. He really got into men's fashion and looking metro. I'm sure he looks way more appropriate as a lawyer now.
My guy has a pretty solid sense of his own style, which is mostly tees, cargo pants or jeans, and comfy shoes. He does indulge me though and lets me suggest stuff when we go shopping together. I usually look for grays, blues, and tees with graphics. He even got a couple of shirts with skulls because he knows I like them. He does trust me implicitly when he's shopping for suits and will get whatever me or the shop girl tell him looks good.
lol i cant get him out of t.shirts and jeans if i tried... and believe me... i have. lol. still trying though!! I dont give up easily......
yes i do otherwise goodness knows what he would wear!!!
No. My husband is a terrible dresser, but that's his business.
my man can dress himself which is grrreat cause i'm crazy bout that. ps. i love caroline trentini.
No, I don't. I prefer he wears whatever he wants, which is extremely casual and I wouldn't say he has much style.. but he doesn't dress terrible. If someday he asked for suggestions or we went shopping for new clothes for him, I'd help him out.
I don't typically tell him what to wear... he has a great sense of style, but sometimes he asks for my help which I am more than happy to give!
My boyfriend usually asks me believe it or not because he thinks I have great style and eye for fashion. On top of that he has great taste on his own so we are an awsome team! :)
YES I DO! and there has been a vast improvement in his overall image due to my advice on clothing and hair. I let him make final decision tho.
He's an incredible dresser, but I give my opinion on what I think looks good on him & sometimes he asks for advice.
Other. I tried. LOL. I do buy the majority of his clothes, but they have to be the ones he likes, if not, he'd make me return them, hence my hubby will remain the MOST CASUAL dressed guy ever. He HATES/ABHORS trends and 'fancy' stuffs, oh well. I bought him this nice coat that's kind of 'suede'-like texture to it (soft) and he thinks it's too girly. WHatever.
I don't tell him how to dress because I don't like him to tell me how to dress either. That doesn't mean we don't make suggestions or ask each other's opinion.
sometime when he asks for my opinion he has a mens wear store so he knows alot about styling and fashion
I would say yes and no. I offer suggestions or my opinion to help, but I don't feel that I would ever try to just dress him from head to toe in whatever I wanted him to wear.
He asks for my suggestions when we go out to do something special, but otherwise, he can handle his own. His style is American classic prep meets rugged. I love it.
My husband is incredibly stylish. But that doesn't mean I haven't ever made suggestions. ;)
well i don't exactly TELL him what to wear, but i have bought clothes for him and steered him in the right direction a time or 2
Every morning, my husband asks me "does this tie go with this shirt?" It always does. He has good taste, he just doesn't know it!
i chose YES but i wish there was another option...he does pretty well on his own...he looked pretty good when i met him...but i help him and he really likes my help he is so cute though...if i see something and even remotely gush over it, he will buy it immediately i saw something this weekend and held it up to him, told him how good it would make his eyes look, and i could tell her was waffling over it and said to me "that makes me want to buy it!" even though it was a super expensive coat that he did NOT need! i had to make him walk away from it!
He can't even shop without my help.
Nope, never had to... the men I've dated have always been pretty well dressed. :)
