Easy Ways to Mix Prints

The 4 Simple Ways to Mix Prints Like a Pro

The following post was written by Jamie Walsh, who blogs at Glam Latte and is part of POPSUGAR Select Fashion.

Print mixing was all over the Spring 2014 runways, and it's been seen in fashion magazines and on celebs and fashion bloggers. It's a huge trend this Spring, but mixing prints can be intimidating. If you've been wanting to try this trend but have been a little apprehensive, here are a few easy tips to get you started.

  • Keep both pieces in the same color family: In this outfit, both the top and skirt are black and white, which is the simplest way to start.
  • Vary pattern sizes: The leopard print on the blouse is smaller than the wide stripes on the skirt, so they balance each other out.
  • Keep your accessories simple: There are only three accessories used in this look — a sparkly earring, a simple ring, and a clutch. This allows the prints to be center stage.
  • Wear it with confidence: This is one of the most important elements to a good look! Don't let it show that you are nervous about this trend. Instead, style your look and rock it with pride!

Shop the look — top: Dex printed button-down blouse, skirt: Varga (shop similar), shoes: JustFab (shop similar), earrings: Ashley Madekwe for BaubleBar, ring: Shoplately So Sweet Ring Set — Light Pink and Purple, bag: Susu
