Effortless Chic: Shirt Dresses

If it's casual sophistication you're after, why not trade your jeans and t-shirt ensembles for a shirt dress? These button-front styles are like a longer but equally comfy version of your boyfriend's dress shirt. Worn with a wide belt over opaque tights or leggings, this is a great look for shopping, running errands, or even for the office, depending on the length. (Wearing a shirt as a dress, however, is a fashion don't.) Here are some looks to try at various price points.

Ya-Ya Shirt Dress, $215, available here.

AKA New York Shirt Dress, $364, available here.

Edward An Bryce Shirt Dress, $220, available here.

To see the rest,

Norma Kamali Everlast Oversize Shirt Dress, $195, available here.

Bebe Vested Striped Shirt Dress, $119, available here.

Forever 21 Belted Shirt Dress, $34.80, available here.

I came here from the MK fiasco. I *LOVE* the forever 21 dress. I have always loved that style of dress. The only other one i like is the Bebe vested dress, even though it's not exactly in my price range.

Shirt dresses never really work for me in white. I really like the Bebe and the Forever 21, though. Charlotte Russe has a nice one in blue too.

I love the last one, but the rest just look like PJ tops.

JessNess I agree. It does look like a "put your boyfriend's shirt on." I'll pass on this one.

I think they just look like you put your boyfriends shirt on and walked straight out the door

I don't like it because it looks like you forgot to put on pants.

Yes, I really like the BeBe one, actually. But that's less of a shirt dress if you ask me. ----------- “Buy me a dream: Shopping for clothes isn’t about the things you need, it’s about the woman you’ll become when you wear them.”

i think some of the styles are cute, but not seriously just looks like the pants were forgotten. some may be able to pull it off, but i would feel pretty naked in them (except for the bebe and forever 21 version, i like those)

Ha, I just linked over to this from Pop's feature on MKA's grunge dress. I'm not sure these look much better other than the fact that they aren't flannel. ----------- “Buy me a dream: Shopping for clothes isn’t about the things you need, it’s about the woman you’ll become when you wear them.”
