In honor of Elie Tahari's 40th anniversary, the designer opened up his Fifth Avenue store for a presentation of not only his Spring 2014 collection, but also select "Edition 1974" pieces — updates of iconic silhouettes like the swing coat, jumpsuit, and shift dress along with fresh spins on the label's signature leather items. Although the event nodded toward the past, Tahari introduced futuristic components to his lineup, from the now-omnipresent laser-cut leather to "high-tech" fabrics like raw edge silicone. Still, all that hardness was well balanced with a soft color palette and easy-fitting pants. To another 40 years!
