Fab Flash: Fendi Runway Bash on Great Wall of China

The shows never stop! LA Fashion Week isn't the only runway extravaganza currently in the works.

Fendi is currently throwing a four day long party in Beijing, set to culminate on Friday night with the first ever fashion show staged on the Great Wall of China. The runway presentation is a reshowing of the Fendi Fall 2007 collection, and Kate Bosworth and her model boyfriend James Rousseau are said to be in attendance for the bound to be breathtaking spectacle.

China is a developing country with a rapidly growing economy. Let's not forget that even though some of the factories may not have the best conditions if it wasn't for foreign companies setting up production over there those workers would have no income at all and all of us spoilt westerners would not have access to all the relatively cheap goods that make our standard of living so high.As the country becomes more developed conditions will improve. I think we should support Chinese products rather than boycott them as that would make things a lot worse for the people in the country.

oh i know...and i dont expect the geniuses of the fashion world to be focused on anything but making great clothes. but you have to admit its hysterical that fendis going to china, considering how many faux fendis come out of that country... ok, i have to come to china's defense here. i know it is bad in China, but the government is working on improving the conditions. it is a huge country, it has a huge population, they dont have the time for everything.

Have just seen the pictures of Kate at this event, she looks cute. Not sure about the dress though.

Oh come on, you can be fashionable AND politically aware. In fact, if women put in as much energy into researching candidates or getting involved with social issues as looking for the perect bag or pair of heels, our society would be much better off!!! That's the thing about women, we can be fashionable AND knowledgeable! Anyway with that said, I absolutely love and agree with beautyandbeast42's comments. It is a bit absurd to make such a fashion spectacle in such a place. It is bad enough that the Olympics will be there and many of the sponsors are contributing to the violation of human rights. It's hypocritical because so many fashion "it" girls also fight for "worthy causes"...Angelina Jolie and Madonna for example. Instead of making so many trips to third world countries for convenient photo opps why not use the influence they have with Fendi (which I'm sure is huge) and change the place. How cool would it be to actually promote a country that is in need of it? Then you could mix Fendi, hot clothes AND a socialy conscious cause.

ugh...so ignore the fact china is demolishing human rights, that they have terrible conditions in their factories, and that outside conglomerates regularly use the governments lax attitudes to abuse their workers. lets make china fashionable!
