Fabworthy: Giles & Brother Tiny Safety Pin Necklace

Fabworthy: Giles & Brother Tiny Safety Pin Necklace

A safety pin isn't the first thing I would think to wear around my neck, but I instantly became smitten with the concept when a co-worker wore this Giles & Brother Tiny Safety Pin Necklace ($75) to work recently. Darling, right?

It's the perfect everyday necklace because it's subtle and non-distracting. So, you can wear it with any outfit and it won't clash or get in the way. It would especially make a cute gift for a designer friend, who can use it in case of fashion-emergency situations.

When I was in high school I used to wear those big, plastic safety pins they make for diapers on my coat. :) This is darling, and I agree that it could definitely be recreated for next to nothin.

not only do I agree that $75 is crazy, but I actually don't even like it - for me, anyways, just because it's so tiny and it would probably look terrible over my big head and bug shoulders...

I'm confused, why on earth would you pay $75 for a safety pin?? At least it's an easy look to copy, basically for free! Everyone has safety pins and at least one old, unused necklace chain in a drawer. Too funny.

I love Giles & Brother's pendant necklaces...they're so delicate and quirky. Affordable too. I have one that's a little heart with an arrow through it.

Ok this is so DIY for basically free dollars, haha.

haaaaaaahh ok the idea is very cute. but come on, $75?? you could go to a sewing supply store and probably buy a box of 200 tiny safety pins for like a dollar, and stick one on any necklace chain. save yourself the money and DIY!

Really? $75 dollars. Please. Make your own for probably 2 bucks, if even. I'm sure every girl's got a silver or gold chain. I'm sure For Love 21 would come out with a similar version too.

So cute! Plus, if you happen to have a thin chain you could easily find a tiny safety pin and make your own, they come in gold and silver!
