After weeks of street style stalking at Fashion Week, prepping for Halloween, and watching the looks unfold on the Spring '16 runways, the arrival of a new month finally gives us all a good reason to shop for ourselves. If, like us, you've been filing away outfit inspiration on the regular and looking for an excuse to hit the racks, Fall's very real arrival will give you plenty. First, you'll need a great coat, sturdy (and impossibly cool) new boots, and a few extras — like a wear-everywhere backpack and a couple of sparkly baubles to dress up your sweaters and jeans. We've got you covered; just scroll to see what our editors are out shopping this month and do the same!

I've been counting the days to the debut of Uniqlo's collaboration with Christope Lemaire. When the collection hits stores Oct. 2, this cashmere sweater ($70) is at the top of my list. Let's just all cross our fingers and pray it doesn't sell out!

I've already amassed a pretty remarkable boot collection, but upon finding M.Gemi's Avallo boots ($298) I found myself muttering "just one more pair . . ." The snake-print offers a fresh spin on the Chelsea boot and I can't wait to pair them with both skinny jeans and tights.

I’m really excited to layer this season after seeing so much street style inspiration during Fashion Week. I love how girls are playing with pieces in varying lengths and have been searching for a beautifully draped, midi-length, pleated skirt to wear with an oversized sweater. I think I just may have found it in this Zara Knit A-Line Pleated Skirt ($70).

Rebecca Minkoff’s Sydney Crossbody in Port ($275) — a fun bag in Fall’s richest color.

So flattering and so cool — not to mention easy to dress up or down with a cozy sweater — you'll wonder how you ever lived without these Tibi wrap pants ($495).

Olivia Palermo's collection for BaubleBar is a treasure trove of gorgeous jewels, but I've narrowed it down to just this one sleek cuff ($38). I'll throw it on to dress up jeans and t-shirt or double up on them to outfit a cocktail dress.

The answer to what to wear to all your Fall weddings is this dress ($363). Self Portrait's beautiful lace confections balance sex appeal with romance, and a super flattering silhouette. After their debut presentation at New York Fashion Week, I've become a die-hard fan — can you blame me?

All I have from Spring and Summer are distressed boyfriend jeans and skinny stonewashes, so I am seriously in need of a Fall denim update. On my shopping list is the High-Waisted Dark Wash Jean by Mother Denim ($230). The high-waist extends the look of my legs and it works as a casual day jean, but is ideal for a night out too.

Coat season is quickly approaching, so I'm on the hunt for something that manages to be both comfy and cool at the same time. On my list? This Cuyana wool coat ($495) that has just the right amount of polish while still standing up to the weather.

Even though Summer is over, sunglasses are a statement accessory that work year round. These blush mirrored aviators from Ray-Ban ($170) would be a great finish to any neutral outfit.

— JC, associate shopping editor

Yes, party dresses are a seasonal must have, but let's not count out party pants! These high-sheen Rosie Assoulin velvet trousers ($895) offer something unexpected yet elegant for all of my upcoming to-dos.

I’m a grown girl with no cashmere sweater. That will surely be one sad story this Fall when the temperatures drop — that is, unless I do something about it. I’m investing in this Vineyard Vines Cream Coral Lane Sweater ($198) for its high-quality, fair price, and slightly preppy fit.

After seeing the new Altuzarra Ghianda Saddle Bag ($2,995) in person, I immediately catalogued it in the back of my brain as a dream bag. From the western-meets-seventies braided strap, to it's ideal size, I can't help but covet it.

— AM, assistant editor

I’m hopping aboard the skinny scarf bandwagon. Since I already invested in a thin black velvet style, I’ll use this Rockins dragon pattern style ($145) to contrast prints in my wardrobe.

— SW, assistant editor

I don’t want this crisp white Zara coordinate set ($100) —I need it. It’s proof you can wear white all through Winter. Plus, it’s tailored enough to be work appropriate when paired with sleek booties. I’d even try it with a turtleneck underneath.

— SW, assistant editor

Being as I’m always cold, I’m constantly searching for creative ways to cover up. This Club Monaco bomber ($160) will replace blazers and cardigans on days that call for something more casual, and the half sweater, half jacket combination is perfect for in-between temps.

— Samantha Sutton, assistant editor

After eyeing them on plenty of street style stars this Fashion Week, I’m ready for a Chloé bag of my own. The suede Faye satchel ($1,950) is the perfect size for me since it’s versatile enough to hang on my shoulder or to use as a chic, statement-making clutch.

— SW, assistant editor

You’ll find Gucci loafers on the feet of every fashion blogger and It girl this Fall, but sadly, those shoes are well beyond my budget. Michael Kors’s Ansley Patent-Leather Loafers ($150) are pretty similar, helping me stay on trend without breaking the bank.

— SS, assistant editor

Scream Queens is getting to my head, and I need to rock something furry before I become The Red Devil. This faux fur stole ($60) will keep me warm as things cool off and can easily be paired with a leather jacket to give it more oomph.

— SS, assistant editor

I’m dying to jump on the backpack bandwagon, but would like it to look elevated rather than childish. This Building Block option ($550) is sleek, slim, and sophisticated, and a far cry from that bulky something I toted in school.
