People always say that you should spend more money on the things that will make the greatest impact in your wardrobe, like a coat for instance, or a pair of great heels. But what about costume jewelry? When it comes to bangles, a big hit for Spring 2009, we think the instinct is to head towards the high street for a four dollar version. One thousand dollars for a bangle seems like a lot of money when you can get something similar for any price you like. What if, however, you were in the market for a piece of fine jewelry and the choice was between a thin gold chain with a diamond pendant or, again, the thousand dollar bangle? Well, then it seems more reasonable to go for the bangle, in a sense, because (using the same logic as investing in trench coats or great heels) it would be a more noticeable investment and therefore would create more bang for your buck...we suppose this trend at high and low price points can work for all sorts of people--it just depends on what you tell yourself really.
