Matthew Edelstein's Friends & Associates line just keeps getting better. Last season the editor-turned-designer added denim to his initial offering of easy-wearing tops, shorts, and tunics; thanks to a great response, Fall 2013 sees an even broader selection of that — plus outerwear and leather. "This collection is inspired by the iconic pieces in a military uniform: the peacoat, the bomber, the military sweater," Edelstein told us. "We take it to an unexpected place by mixing in sweet pastels." Icy mint and sorbet peach soften up the otherwise black, ivory, and olive palette, resulting in a utilitarian-tinged collection that feels pretty, not harsh. "It's the Candy Land Army," Edelstein explained. Consider us fully enlisted.
