I was so annoyed when the alarm in stores would keep going off, but now I know why! I just rolled them into little cuffs on the bottom so no one would think I stole them (I PROMISE, I DID NOT!) but I still haven't gotten the sensor off! I reeeeeeeally should do that to avoid embarrassment. Walto012 6 years yes but it was no big deal. Luckily it hasn't happened recently. kh61582 6 years For the longest time I have a jacket in my closet that still had it's sensor on it. I had it since I was a child so we're talkin' old school really big blue plastic sensor. I eventually through it out in high school when I was cleaning out my closet. I still have no idea about the whole back story on that. RoyalBlueMoss 6 years yea but I just use wirecutters and remove them myself. Its quick, easy and you don't have to bother taking it back to the store. manay 6 years Ugh yes! They forgot to take one off a sweater I bought and I couldn't take it back to the store because I bought it in New York. I'm from Toronto =( So I had to go around a mall and finally found a store that could remove it for me. almostloli 6 years yes, happened a few timeswere really embarrassing moments.. :( people knew i didnt do it .. but some did stare.. :o almostloli 6 years yes, happened a few times were really embarrassing moments.. :( people knew i didnt do it .. but some did stare.. :o Shop_Oholic 6 years Yeah. I got a cashmere cardigan as a present from JCrew AND wanted to return it. The salesperson totally thought I stole it. erika71690 6 years i work in retail and i do it ALLLLL the time :P accidentally, or course. nourhayaty 6 years oh no thank god!but it happened with my uncle and instead he gave them hard time and called the manger and the poor salesperson was really in trouble cupcake_ 6 years Ugh yes. I was shopping with my mom and we were getting dresses for my cousins wedding. My mom picked hers up last (she had in on hold - they had it ready for her when we arrived). When we walked out the alarm went off and the lady told us it was fine and it must have been one of our other bags. We were in the mall and the car was parked right outside of the Bay so we walked into the Bay and the alarm went off. Someone came over to check and had to search through all of our things. Finally it was discovered that it was on my mom's dress. They tried to remove it but needed some special thing to take it off. So we had to walk all the way back to the other end of the mall for them to remove it. And after a long day of dress shopping we just wanted to get out of there. Yes it was embarassing too lol. lovekicks 6 years yep.. has happend to me a few times. i've worked in retail for a few years now.. and i find it really annoying thing when a salesperson fails to do so. sometimes i find myself reminding them.. right now i am working at le chateau, and sometimes my coworkers and i don't take of the sensor tags/ or de-magnitize them on purpose if the customer was particularily bitchy/ rudely diva-esque. bad joke haha. Alithyra 6 years Ugh, yes. I bought a new windbreaker from a store at the mall before a trip. Nothing beeped, and I was across the pond in London [wearing it for the first time] before I noticed. Thankfully a local department store had the tools to remove it [and I tried a magnet with no luck]. Once they were convinced they didn't sell that jacket, they were happy to remove it. snarkypants 6 years this has happened to me, but i guess it doesn't bother me that much. people make mistakes. oh well. Susanna 6 years I don't know which is more annoying: have the tag beepwhen you try to leave and being stopped by security, or having to go back to the shop the next day because the salesclerk deactivated the tag, but didn't remove it. Grr! wickedlanie 6 years I try to check everything to make sure that they've removed the sensors. So far it hasn't happened yet. TheEnchantedOne 6 years This has happened to me a bunch of times! And there are sales people who don't even say sorry afterwards! That's the most annoying part. flamingo9 6 years I know! I want those sunglasses too! They are Tom Ford... katiebeth 6 years Does anybody know who makes the sunglasses the model is wearing?! I love them... I know that is totally not related to the question but I want them :) AshleySunshine 6 years This has definitely happened to me! It's very frustrating when you get home and go to put something on pnly to find the tag on it still. As for setting off the towers when you walk in somewhere chances are it's the sensors that are sewn into the clothes (Gap, Old Navy, etc.) If you don't cut them out they will set off sensors. Glittersniffer 6 years I've had it happen so many times I've totally lost count. The times that stick out are the ones that have accused me of stealing the item...of course, that's exactly my MO! I steal, then come back in with a conjured receipt to make you de-sensor the things I bought! You're on to me! I've also had phantom sensor issues, which drives me MAD. Apparently if I walk past a sensor tower while using the mobile internet on my iPhone (1st gen), it'll trip them off. Once I had nothing on me but a small clutch, and the shop girls insisted on searching it, and my jacket...which was ludicrous, because when I tripped the sensor, I WAS WALKING IN. Cupcake0110 6 years This ALWAYS happens to me! I thought I was the only one. It's so annoying.
