I'm a designer and it bothers me that it's difficult for me to raise capital and market what I LOVE to do. Then the celebrities who have funds to invest in whatever- just do fashion as a money-making business venture. This cuts into my profits because I am not Madonna. I stick to what I do best and I think they should stick to whatever they do best as well. Besides, 99% of them are not involved in the design process at all. Sad.

It's not fair to real designers. They don't get credit for their designs, instead, the celebrity that was maybe there for one meeting gets all the attention. Celebrities haven't worked and trained for years like actual designers have (and most designers never even get the chance to have their own line). It's completely unfair and leads to a lot more crap on the market. Let designers do what they do best.

Madonna KILLED it. Her stuff is terrible. She needs to go away. Not even make music anymore, just away away, far away.

if its good, then fine with me. but Madonna's H&M just sucked so....I just hope they're not doing it for the namessake. Sometimes unfair to designers that study their butts off to have their chances snatched by a celebrity just cuz the celebrity could match a few nice clothes in her closet..

it depends on the celeb I guess ,for example , I'm a huge fan of Kate's line , but I was really disappointed in the lines by Madonna and Kylie , so I'll go for "other" I guess ..

It depends on what the collection looks like. I believe that fashion is a major component of celebrity and that sometimes celebs learn a lot from having access to designers and other fashion insiders.

The clothes aren't that great..and they don't even design the clothes, they are just paid for their name to be put on the tag..how ridiculous.

some have decent clothes but....it won't last

most of them dont even actually do any of the actual designing, so I just don't like the way they put a celebrity name on it to make it sell.

I'm a L.A.M.B fan, but it's getting a little excessive.

It really doesn't do much for me. Negative or otherwise. If the clothes are cute I'll be excited, regardless of the name that goes with them.

Trend is the key word, eventually all trends fade. Why not go with something classic?

I don't really like when celebrities make a lining of clothing because I feel like they try to profit off their names. The only celebrity line that I adore is Sean Combs. Man he makes some fantastic clothes!

i've been over it from the getgo. they're not designers--they don't know what they're doing. someone else designs the clothes for them, and they get to put their name on it. it's fashion plagiarism.

just because a celeb designs clothes doesn't mean they look good!

If it's at non-celebrity prices, then why the heck not? I'd gladly partake.

I don't really care either way - I care more about what the clothes look like and the prices. It doesn't really matter to me if they were designed by a celeb or not.

I could take it or leave it really, celebrity endorsement doesn't make me more likely to buy an item of clothing. I'm yet to see a celebrity line that I'm truly wowed by.

I have to say that I was really disappointed in the lines by Madonna, Kylie and Gwen and the lines by JLo and SJP are nothing special. I think it can hurt a celeb's "star power" by having a line that flops. And if one more celeb comes out with a perfume, I'm going to scream!!

If the line was good then why not? If not then...they should stick with their day jobs
