Some people keep their favorites for years, if it's like a favorite T with a great saying, or a pair of jeans that fit jusssst right.

I like to wear them a long time (If I bought something it's because I love it!). After a point your clothes start looking ratty, though, either from washing or whatever, so then it's time to let go. . . . It has also happened a cuple of times that I'll keep something i haven't worn in a year because I completely forgot I owned it. So really when I "clean out" my closet not much stuff gets thrown out, but I rediscover things :).

some things are just timeless... and being well-made also helps. my cheap stuff gets tossed once it loses its luster but the good stuff i keep until i'm forced to give it up.

All depends on the item, the quality, and style. Items that are higher quality and more timeless are infinite keepers. I'll wear them until/unless they get a hole or something. Other items might only last a year but typically, they're the cheaper items that are either more trendy or more likely to wear out quicker. I'm pretty good about going through my closet once a year and cleaning it out. It's heartbreaking at times but I give it to Salvation Army so I know it's going to people who could really use them.

It all depends on the piece. I have a French Connection top that was one of my first real designer items when I was 13; It's 3ys old now however it's like new. I never get tired of it. Same w/ my first pair of a pricer jeans; I also got them at 13 as a gift, they were $90 by Blue 2. I can't wear them since there too small however I keep it for memories and maybe to pass down someday. Most of my items I keep for 2-4yrs then I start to donate again.

I try to keep the pretty stuff in good condition so I can keep them longer. But I've been losing alot of weight recently so alot of my fab pretty clothes are all gone cuz I can't fit into them anymore.

Sure, I'll tire of clothes after very little time, but that doesn't mean I get rid of them.

It depends on how long they last!! If they get all stretched out, then I there gone. But if there good quality and I like it, I'll keep it forever!

I'm always cleaning out my closet. I do like to keep as much as I can for as long as possible but some stuff just needs to GO the next time that season rolls around.

I agree with everyone, really depends on what it is. I am a classic dresser - but I like to throw in trendy accents to modernize the look. Today I am wearing a sheath that I have had for a good 6 years, but added a skinny red patent leather belt to it, looks current. I go through my closet probably 2x a year - my rule is if you havne't worn it in a year it goes, unless it is just too fabulous to part with.

It depends on the item, I have some dresses from 4/5 years ago that still look fresh & current.

Depends on the quality and how trendy a piece is. Most of my clothes tend to be classic shapes though, and most items are white, black, or gray, so they carry over from year to year very well.

It definitely depends on the clothing. For example, I plan on having my Armani suit for many, many years; and I could never see myself parting with my DVF wrap dresses. Other things, I might wear for a season, and then donate them to Goodwill.

Trendy stuff that I don't pay a lot for go after a season but I have some Nine West suits that are 5 years old and still look great
