I bought a suit back in college when I took a class to learn how to swim. But I only took the one class and then didn't swim for a while so I'm a bit frightened of the water again. Mostly though I don't go swimming because I'm embarrassed to do so under the watchful eye of a lifeguard or in the mist of a crowd. I stick out like a sore thumb due to my ethnicity and I can't stand people staring at me, especially since I don't swim very well.
0-1. I have a few that really work so I'll hold on to those. I hardly ever go swimming or to the beach so maybe that is why it's so low.
I haven't bought a swimsuit in over 5 years! But I need to buy one soon because my friend is having a pool party on the 4th of July and a lot of clothing stores have their sales on now. I love the pool but I hate the beach, and I don't get to go to the pool/someone's pool all that often so I don't really need one.
I usually wear my suits year after year until they look really dated or get worn out. However, last year, I went to Jamaica and splurged on about 5 suits. And since I spent so much money, I'll be keeping those suits for a few more years. LOL I wish I lived closer to water. I used to go to the pool all the time when I was younger, but I really don't like them anymore. Unless I'm one of maybe 5 people in the water. The crowds are too much.
It really depends if I'm going on vacation or not. If I'm just hanging out at the beach with people I see every day, no need for a new bathing suit. But if I'm going to be making an appearance in an album's worth of family photos, I'll splurge for something new.
I don't swim nor sun... so the two I have will and have lasted me years.
I think the last time I bought one was in... 1994? I'm not much of a beach person. Last year I was going to a gym with a pool but never used it because my hair is waist-length and dyed, and it's more trouble than it's worth.
i have 4 now, i live in Phx so we go to rocky point and cali a lot, as well as all the pool parties! you gotta have a swimsuit if you live here!
I usually buy one every couple of years. Going to the beach is a little too much of a hassle, and I don't know a lot of people who have pools...soo... And I hate trying on swimsuits! Blah. It's always a horrible experience.
I think it depends on your demographic. I live in Texas, we dont have a beach nearby, so to buy more than two suits is unnecessary, unless you have plans to travel....
I had the same swimsuit between ages 11 and 19. (Yeah, I did most of my growing before that...) It was a pretty flattering design but kind of tacky bright colors. I got a new one recently, but I've only been to the beach with it once. There's a river beach in town but I never go there because none of my friends go there. They're so boring. ;_; I was at the beach ALL the time when I was little.
I don't really go in the water much but I really want either a sailor inspired or a 1940s type swimsuit. I usually only have one at a time and that's it.
I can't remember the last time I went to the beach, and I rarely swim. but, I just bought a cute swimsuit that was on sale at old navy ... who knows when I'll get to wear it!
I find a great swimsuit about every other year. I don't go swimming that much or live near a beach so no point in having a lot. But am going to the beach in South Carolina this year so might need to do some shopping...
I bought two this year. Now I need to buy another one because I need a competition suit for crosstraining. I just hate spending so much money on something so unfabulous.
I have only owned one swimsuit. I live 15 minutes from the beach but I never go there.
One, and only if my older one wears out.
Anywhere from 6 to 15 bikinis. I go to the shore a lot so, I want to wear something different each time.
I always buy too many and spend much more each year on swimwear then I would like. Where I live the beach/swimming it's a big part of my lifestyle but I always feel so uncomfortable in swimwear so I'm always looking for *and buying) a more flattering pair and they also get wrecked in the spa (from the chemicals).
It's so difficult to find one that fits well, so I usually will buy one every few years and just wear it out.
Usually like one or two :)
1-2. I don't really have the opportunity, unless we're going to a hotel with a pool or a beach in France.
One or two usually.
I haven't bought a swimsuit in about 5 years. Not much of a beach or pool person.
No more than 4. I'd rather splurge on new shoes, cause I can wear them for a longer time period.
