i only do it with my really delicate/fancy/expensive items, and only after a few wearings. with my silk items, i've noticed that they air out exceptionally well, and i don't need to have them cleaned unless there's a noticeable spot.

It really depends. If I can Febreeze it or hand wash, then I'll do it myself. But if I'm afraid I'll ruin it I usually slip it in with my boyfriend's dry cleaning because he is a fanatic about it!

There's an eco-friendly dry cleaner by mouse place too but I only take my whites there since they're so expensive but they do the most awesome job on whites. The rest of my dry clean only clothing is dropped off at the one at work (so convenient).

i try to buy items that aren't exclusively dry clean only. but there are some things that are just too cute to pass up :) for a lot of my delicates, i wash them separately in laundry bags or even handwash them.

I never dry clean because I don't buy items that would need to be dry cleaned.

I take my 'dry clean only' clothes as need aka when they get stinky or out of shape.

I have an "green" dry cleaner by my house. They won awards for being less harsh on the environment and I make sure to go there every-time. I know it is still not great but sometimes I just need to get those certain pieces done.

I take all my suits and cashmere to the dry cleaner. I usually go once a month, which costs a fortune, but is less of a pain than going more often.

I dry clean gowns and other special clothes too. I'm not a big fan of it. Too expensive!

i hand wash. not only is it bad for env, it's expensive! i have dry cleaned a few expensive coats before, but didn't feel like they did that great of a job for fifteen bucks, the hassle of driving there, and all the chemicals. wash cold, lay flat to dry...works for me.

I haven't dry cleaned anything in years--it's so bad for the environment. I think Dryell(sp?) works wonders and many things can be hand-washed despite what the tag says.

I have NEVER done it - yet - but if I get a reallllly bad stain on something I ♥ , I probably would.

Never, dry cleaning freaks me out. I don't see how spraying chemicals on my clothes will make them clean. And like foxie said, it's not very environmentally friendly.

Um... lol, is it on purpose that the picture is of an Asian woman for this story?

I use the at home dry cleaning kits and they work pretty good. I'm also looking into investing into the new washers that steam clean your clothes.

I really only own a few things that are "dry clean only." Why waste money if I can take care of it myself?

Dry cleaning is terrible for the environment.
