Summer is one of our favorite times of the year, but dressing the part can be tricky. We headed over to Madewell in Century City and styled up a pair of loose, high-waisted shorts that will carry you seamlessly into sunny weather. Take a cue from the tribal looks on the Spring 2012 runways and try out an Aztec print top, or pair your shorts with a chambray button-up layered underneath a short sleeve sweater while it's still a tad chilly out. Watch today's episode for some great transitional outfit inspiration!
Hey, guys. It's Allison McNamara and today on Ways to Wear, I'm gonna show you how to wear one pair of blue shorts three totally different ways. Shorts are warm weather staple and can be dress down for day or style it up for night. We saw a range of new select shorts for spring at Prabal Gurung, Tubby and Chloe 'cause today here at Made Well in Century City and we're styling up some on trend outfits with this pair of loose rust colored shorts. For our first outfit, we toned down our blue shorts for day. Tribal was a big trend on the spring runways at Michael Kors and Donna Karan, so we selected this blue prim and black Aztec Bridgette top. We played off the tribal feel with some long gold necklaces and some gold dangles and then drew attention to her waist with a black knotted belt. On bottom We finished off the outfit with some two tone, black and tan platforms. For our next outfit, we wanted to show off our layering skills. Denim is a great compliment to the rust colored shorts so we selected a chambray top, something you might already have in your closet. Now this outfit would look great as is. We wanted to push it a little bit further and add in some texture. So we selected this gray short sleeved sweater. And then on bottom, we added some brown sandals to give her some height and then a mustard colored bag polishes off the look. For our last outfit, we styled up our shorts for a night out. We started off with a cream tee underneath which is the perfect from day to night. And then we added polish and elevated the look with a navy blazer with nautical gold buttons. Then we had a lot of fun with accessories. We selected this navy and gold chain necklace which plays off the jacket. And then we went with a sailor feel with a red belt and a red clutch with tassels. And finally, we added in a pop-up print with polka dot heels on bottoms. Hopefully, these outfits have inspired you to get get your hands on a pair of blue shorts this season. Thanks for tuning in to FabSugar TV. I'm Allison McNamara and I'll see you next time.
