It's official: crop tops are a transcontinental trend. For Spring 2014, J.W. Anderson presented an almost sculptural array of separates and dresses — including a series of architectural crop tops in the shape of architecturally stylized bows.
These bows popped up numerous times in Anderson's Spring lineup, adorning sheer tops that were paired with pleated skirts and cinching looks at the waist in what appeared to be gathered leather. But while the garments initially featured softer, more diaphanous fabrics (one crop top was so sheer that it was see-through), the collection ended in structured leather pieces, some with aggressive texture. Femininity has been redesigned with a futuristic edge.
