Hey there, it's Allison. Kate Middleton really stole the spotlight this year. With her fairytale royal wedding, her countless fascinators, and her super stylish outfits fit for a queen to be. In order to celebrate the Dutchess of Cambridge, we selected our favorite Kate Middleton looks from 2011 in today's Fab Flash. Will and Kate started their romance while in college at Saint Andrews, and the pair visited the campus earlier this year. Kate chose a ladylike Peplum jacket and skirt combo in a brilliant red hue. Playing off the black buttons and belt, she layered a black turtleneck underneath as well as tights, boots, and leather gloves. A trench coat is an easy way to look chic and pulled together in a pinch. We love how Kate used her trench like a dress and selected one on the fitted side with a cute ruffle trim. Again black tights, shoes, and clutch elevates the whole look. The royal wedding was definitely one of, if not the highlight of 2011. There was so much anticipation surrounding Kate's gown, and we think she and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen created the perfect dress for the big day. She kept it conservative with covered shoulders, made out of gorgeous chantilly lace, and kept the skirt classic and clean with an extra long train. Sheer perfection. For the royal wedding after party held at the Buckingham Palace Kate opted for another cream Alexander McQueen gown by Sarah Burton. This one had a jeweled waist belt and then she added a fuzzy crop jacket to cover her shoulders. This look was almost as magical as her wedding dress. Following their nuptials, Will and Kate headed out for a romantic weekend getaway. For her first official outing as the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate chose a breezy blue Zara dress that she belted at the waist to give it some shape. She polished the look with a blazer and a pair of Raphael[sp?] wedges, and her new husband. For the Derby Festival in England, Kate selected a chic, all white and tan ensemble that's perfect for a day at the horse races. She paired her white jacket and skirt look with tanaccesories, platform pumps, a box clutch, and a cool fascinator. One of our favorite gowns Kate wore this year was this gorgeous Jenny Packham dress for the tenth annual arts dinner. The color looks great on her and we like how she kept the look relatively monochromatic with a blushy satin clutch and peep toe heels. This dress is all about the details: pretty flutter sleeves, sparkly embellishments, and shimmery material make this outfit a show-stopper. After the royal wedding, the newlyweds embarked on a North American tour and Kate delivered a bevy of stylish outfits. We adore Kate in royal blue and she shows a lovely 3/4 length sleeve Ergen[sp?] dress with lace shoulders and it doesn't hurt that this color totally matches her gorgeous blue sapphire engagement ring. She completed the outfit with her signature patented pumps and clutch. We loved seeing Kate dressed down in jeans. But even when she's wearing denim, she still keeps it polished. She threw on a structured navy blazer over a ladylike ruffled blouse and then added the feel with a brown all leather belt. She added a pair of daytime appropriate wedges to complete the look. Kate often wears British designers but while in America for her overseas tour she selected several standout pieces by American designers, including this bright green Diane von Furstenburg dress. We love how she doesn't shy away from bold colors. For the royal's big Hollywood moment at the Bathtub Brits to Watch event, Kate went for an elegant lilac an Alexander McQueen confection. Will and Kate epitomize Hollywood glamour, and we love how she kept her look simple and refined. A sparkly belt drew attention to her tiny waist and she swapped off her signature nude accessories for a metallic clutch. Back across the pond, Kate tends to favor a fascinator. This oversize floral version looks great paired with her cream embroidered trench and diamond drop earrings. This nautical getup It's so chic. We love how she went for the head to toe look and paired a white blouse with navy trim and gold buttons, with a navy pencil skirt with matching hardware. It's a bold look to wear both pieces together, but we think Kate totally pulled it off. And lastly, Kate showed off a little more skin than usual and it's silver, one-shoulder Jenny Packham gown and we think she hit the perfect balance of sexy and elegant. Kate Middleton really wowed us back in 2011 and we can't wait to see what she has in store for us in 2012. I'm Alison, thanks for watching FabFlash on FabSugar TV
