Kate Middleton's Love Affair With Alexander McQueen

Oct 29 2013 - 8:25am

When Kate Middleton walked down the aisle to marry Prince William in Alexander McQueen [1], we should've known one of the great modern fashion pairings was being made. Ever since the gown heard 'round the world, the duchess has kept up appearances . . . in, of course, McQueen (including a very special recent appearance with the newest man in her life). We predict it's a twosome that'll go the distance.

The most recent McQueen and Kate spotting? The proper dress that perfectly matched Prince George's christening gown [2].

For a dinner with Malaysia's head of state, Kate chose a gold and white style that moved gracefully as she walked.

Looking every inch the perfect British style icon, she picked a demure lace sheath for a Diamond Jubilee luncheon in early June 2012.

Bold red worked on the never-saucy Kate, who picked the color for a professional outing with husband Prince William.

We loved the stunning shade on her!

And arguably her most famous McQueen? The wedding [3] gown that stunned the world.

There's more white McQueen for Kate than that most famous floor-sweeper. For the Order of the Garter service, she picked a crisp style that fell above her knees.

In a more casual white pick, she ditched the ornate fascinator and dressed it down in her preferred shoe of choice: wedges.

For her American tour, Kate packed the McQueen, too! It was a pale lavender dress for the BAFTA's "Brits to Watch" event in Los Angeles.

She's turned to the designer for more casual events, too. We adore the preppy-nautical spin this two-piece look gave off.

She picked a velvet number for the Sun Military Awards in London with husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry.

As Prince William fulfilled some military duties, Kate got into the theme of things, picking a double-breasted McQueen dress.

She did a similar look before, albeit a more casual one, in a blouse and double-breasted skirt.

The separates were a perfect pair with matching gold buttons.

Kate's sporting McQueen? Dark green plaid, of course.

To celebrate the queen's birthday, Kate picked a pale pink coat by her beloved label.
