If there's an accessory more ladylike than white opera gloves, it's a really chic hat. Hip to that fact, Alber Elbaz doubled down for Fall 2014. Opening Lanvin with a plumed black cap that seemed to explode into a coordinated jacket, the tone was set for a whimsical collection.
And pretty extras weren't the only feats in feminism. A flowing pink gown and pleated leather dresses were fantasies made reality by Lanvin. Textural curve-hugging silhouettes played up the models' figures, often enhancing them with layers of extra fabric strategically placed along seams. But perhaps the element of the show that women will appreciate most is yet another accessory: shoes. Flats were paired with everything from fur-trimmed suits to jewel-tone gowns and even ostrich-feather cocktail dresses — if that's not a fantasy, what is?
