The Eley Kishimoto show was packed, yesterday afternoon, but we managed to raise our arms in the air to get the footage from the show. Nicely enough, International Herald Tribune's Suzy Menkes was directly in our line of sight wearing Prada lace proudly. The show was upbeat and colorful and despite the pretty headpieces and flowing skirts the collection had a street wear element that toughened things up (the hip hop soundtrack didn't hurt either). The Daily, in this mornings pressing, said of the show "Random perhaps, but it looked damn good- a reminder that the Eley Kishimoto aesthetic works best with a bit of tough to temper the cute". Which is, a pretty steadfast impression, given what we've heard other people say about the show. Spring 09 in London (as opposed to it's darker side which, last Fall, turned up in opposition to the New York shows) has a bright, cheery attitude and, finally, we're really looking forward to the season.
