While Lord & Taylor's holiday windows from last year promoted family dinners around the table, the retailer is singing a different tune this year. Lord & Taylor just announced that it will remain open on Thanksgiving Day, which will leave a number of its employees missing out on family time on one of America's biggest holidays. It's not the first to try out this shopping tactic — Walmart and Kmart also left their doors open last year, but Lord & Taylor is one of the first high-end retailers to do so. With a struggling economy, some workers may appreciate the chance to earn extra wages, and certainly the retailers appreciate the opportunity to increase sales, but when does it get to be too much? Tell us what you think: do you think it's fine for retailers to open or do you think they should honor the holiday tradition and stay closed (and should just wait like everyone else for Black Friday)?
