We're thrilled to present our favorite Lucky story here on Fab!
My fashion week started off with a (freezing) bang with the Organic by John Patrick presentation. I walked in and immediately noticed the models rocking what seemed to be an homage to Laura Ingalls' character on Little House on the Prairie in their long, floral-printed chiffon dresses — so Kristen McMenamy early '90s grunge. The rest of the looks had a very laid-back vibe with a hint of prep school — seriously similar to the staffer style here at Lucky.
There were crisp oxfords, buttoned "librarian style" (i.e., all the way up), under heavy, cropped sweaters, high-waisted shorts and textured knit thigh-high tights. The footwear was all provided by Hunter, and what a departure from the rubber boots that I have seen all too much of this wet winter. There were cropped ankle booties with a modest heel and tall lace-up boots that were very wellie-meets-Victoriana and, dare I say, sexy enough to be worn even on a sunny day. Overall, the collection was wearable, stylish and eco-friendly. What's not to love?
