Miley Cyrus is raising eyebrows again with yet another magazine cover scandal — but unlike issues past, this shocker is not of her own making.
With dueling Hearst covers going head-to-head this month (a form of competition publishers typically shy away from), Elle and Seventeen are making noise on newsstands before their issues even hit. Elle shows Miley in a sparkly ensemble by Marc Jacobs, naturally — and while the most noteworthy element of Elle's image is how covered up Miley is, Seventeen's cover is the one that's really making waves, because it's being published without Miley's consent. According to WWD, "'She's very, very selective when it comes to magazine covers,' said a source close to her camp. 'Miley declined Seventeen and denied being a part of it, completely.'" Going up against Miley? To us, that makes this magazine stand among her most scandalous.
Because this, of course, wouldn't be the first time a Miley cover made some headlines of its own — not even close. The star has been shocking us (and our coffee tables) since 2008, when the bare teen draped herself in white sheets for Annie Leibovitz's Vanity Fair shoot. Since then, she's worn even less but never ceased to surprise. See all the glossies that got us talking in the gallery!
