ModCloth Just Totally Changed the Fashion Game

Aug 13 2014 - 8:00am

There are plenty of things we love about retro-inspired retailer ModCloth [1], from the quirky product names to the outfit galleries of actual shoppers. But take a browse through the pages of the site, and you'll also find that the models are real girls. In fact, style blogger Nicolette Mason [2] is launching a full collaboration with the label this October that ranges from size XS to 4X!

So, we weren't surprised to hear that ModCloth is the first fashion company to sign an anti-airbrushing petition. The Heroes Pledge For Advertisers [3] promises "to do our best not to change the shape, size, proportion, color, and/or remove/enhance the physical features of the people in our ads in post-production." And should any alterations be made, they will be clearly disclosed to readers. In other words, shopping for clothing online just got real. Scroll down to see some of our favorite ModCloth snaps, styled with the brand's signature flair, and, if it sparks a little shopping, know that we're right there with you.
