The Spring 2007 collection from Ralph Lauren was a real standout at New York Fashion Week. Bucking most of the season's trends, it featured menswear-inspired styles, Gatsby-esque glam, 1930s silhouettes, and several puzzling uses of turbans.
The Friday runway show was at once all over the map and yet also reminiscent of everything we've come to expect from Ralph Lauren. Ruffly white collars were paired with elegant riding boots, and cozy feminine sweaters matched up with gold-lame pants. I particularly liked the 30s-inspired evening wear, and there was one very cute beaded cocktail dress that I would wear in an instant. I could do without the turbans though.
