New York Fashion Week Trend Alert: High & Waisted

New York Fashion Week Trend Alert: High & Waisted

Many have been on the fence about this trend, but if you haven't embraced it yet, Fab friends, it is time to get High & Waisted. I am a fan of the high waist - it can really accentuate a woman's figure - but I don't like overly dramatic high waists. A more conservative version for me please. Come Spring, there's high waists galore so hopefully you'll find your niche. To prepare yourself, check out some bright high waists at Phillip Lim, some quirky ones at Alice + Olivia and some sporty ones a la Cynthia Rowley.

As much as I like this look, many women can't pull it off. I can't for sure. Its not that I have a big belly, but this look is for women with long torsos, and mine is short. So.... I guess I won't be wearing alot of hig-waisted jeans in a while. And then again, I think these only look good with heels, and I don't like wearing heels if I don't have to

I suggest not going with all trends... I know that I can't wear ultra low rise, so I don't and honestly there is no way that I would even try on high waist. I guess I not all about trends, after all there just trends.

I really like the looks pictured above. Alas, so far, everything I have tried on has not flattered me at all. :( I would love to know how to adapt this trend to my petite figure.

I have a belly - I carry my weight in my middle and my butt - so this trend does nothing for me. I wish designers would think about a more universal woman when designing fashion and trends!

I think high waists are so sexy and sophisticated, but ashcwebb is right, you have to wear them right and to do that you need the right kind of figure. they're not for everyone.
