Peter Copping's collection for Nina Ricci goes straight to the heart of Resort dressing: the idea of avoiding the mid-Winter doldrums with a glamorously sunny escape. Perhaps most noticeable — and exciting — from his collection were the diverse array of printed silk dresses, whose soft draping meeting strong colors and bold patterns provide the perfect antidote to dreary Winter days.
The dresses set the tone for a playful, feminine, and sophisticated collection of garments whose largely unstructured silhouettes emphasized ease above all else. White lace dresses, chicly draped tops, and sumptuous ruffled blouses were paired with silky skirts and unstructured outerwear. Even pieces in tweed — a decidedly more structured fabric — were rendered in brilliant color and lively silhouettes that showed this collection is about having fun. Everything down to the evening wear — a meticulous study of drapery — was presented without pretense while retaining every bit of polish. Get ready for the seasonal escape of a lifetime.
