Oversize-Shorts Trend From the Spring 2013 Runway

Will You Be Wearing Slouchy Shorts Next Spring?

Say goodbye to your short shorts come Spring '13. Next season's silhouette has gotten longer, slouchier, and decidedly more wearable than last year's cheek-grazing lot. We saw the trend on the runways at Peter Som, BCBG, DKNY, Creatures of the Wind, and more, and we have to say, it's quite a welcome change. They're easy to style and look cool and laid-back whether worn with flats, heels, or wedges. So, we're asking you to weigh in: will you be tapping into next Spring's slouchy-shorts trend?

Why does it have to be either/or? Or can't women choose both? To me, the shorts shown here are closer to capris and have nothing in common with short shorts. To choose between the two is like choosing between high heels and tennis shoes. The author seems to have disdain for the short shorts trend this year- slouchy is "decidedly more wearable" and "a welcome change". A welcome change from a one year trend?  Decidedly more wearable for what occassion? These have their place, but if I'm going to a bbq, I'm wearing short shorts- and yes, the "cheek grazing lot". Annoying.
