Lacoste Revamps Its Look With the "Unconventional Chic"

In an effort to revamp its image, Lacoste is launching a new 2011 ad campaign featuring Liya Kebede and Anja Rubik, among others, topping their eveningwear with the label's iconic polo. As Lacoste's Chief Executive Officer Christophe Chenut explained, the new ads are part of the company's attempt to embody the brand's statement: "We're showing that you can be chic in a different way, not just when you are dressed up for a party or for the office." Sure, they've got some hot models working the look, but I want to know, does this "different" kind of chic speak to you?

it's great for an ad campaign; let's face it, advertising is not about realism and often employ crazy looks; but no one should ever wear this look...

Nobody is really going to wear polo shirts over evening gowns, they just did this to showcase their products. Duh. Today I actually saw a sports jacket over a gown in a shop window and thought it was a great idea to attract people's attention.

This screams too much "marketing strategy" for me.

I hate polo shirts anyway, but this looks ridiculous.
