Riccardo Tisci Takes Givenchy Fall 2009 Couture to the Middle East

Jul 7 2009 - 11:09am

>> Backstage at Givenchy today, a sign read [1]: "No girls on the runway if they haven't eaten before." The show ran [2] over an hour late, was in a hard-to-reach location, and guests froze [3] in the outside venue, but they were allayed by Riccardo Tisci's homage [4] to the Middle East, complete with [5] live musicians playing [6] karkabou. "I dream of Riccardo's genie!" Joe Zee exclaimed [7].

Tisci not only attracted editors but fellow designers: Pucci's Peter Dundas joined [8] Christian Lacroix in the show's front row. And all the models had [9] their hair dyed black especially for the occasion — which was apparently quite impressionable [10] on Lara Stone; Iris Strubegger debuted a new crop and newcomer Antonella Graef opened [11] the show.
