After stomping his way to success last season, Rick Owens returned to a more traditional format for presenting his Fall 2014 collection today in Paris. But just because a team of steppers didn't appear on the runway doesn't mean the collection wasn't full of surprises. Models of all ages delivered his Fall lineup, which featured minimalist yet sculptural silhouettes in earthy colors.
While the silhouettes were streamlined, they succeeded to emphasize the textures of the used materials. Wool, fur, leather, and crocodile — in a subtle display of indulgence — shined through alongside puffy coats in burgundy-colored satin. Topping things off (quite literally) was an array of artistic headwear, from tubular headpieces to sleek, turban-like creations, giving the sense that this season was all about shielding oneself from the elements.
