In his Fall 2014 show notes, Roland Mouret noted that "my talent has become my culture, a kind of personal legacy." Honing in on his skills led to a refined show of sharply tailored dresses, crop tops, and pant suits that clearly showed an evolution from his famous sheath dresses. Patchwork and the combining of patterns and fabrics played a significant role in a heavily black and white collection, lit up with flashes of maroon and cobalt. Leather collars gave edge to more ladylike looks, and his bag line looked sharp with chain straps and colorblock clutches. Noticeably absent is his star-beloved evening wear, which we hope is hiding back in the showroom waiting for Oscars weekend.
