Style For Style: So Long Sweater Fuzzies

If you were to take your sweaters, like this BCBG Max Azria Color Block Cardigan ($154, originally $258), to the dry cleaner every single time they gathered fuzz, well, you'd be paying up the wazoo. It's only inevitable that after a couple of wears, the annoying pills come back. There has to be a cheaper, more convenient way to get rid of fuzz without using a fabric shaver. Wait, there is!

To find out how to remove sweater fuzzies,

Ever wonder what dry cleaners do to remove the fuzz from your sweaters? Most of them use something like this The Laundress Sweater Stone ($18). Instead of paying someone else to do it, take the hard stone and stroke it along areas that are pilling. Voila, you'll have a fresh, new sweater again.

That is sweet! My bf has some fuzzies on his brand new trachsuit from Vancouver and I have no idea how to get rid of them!

I've heard about using a razor too, but that seems like it would be harmful for the fabric.

My grandmother uses a disposable razor. Seems to work for her.

I hate those annoying sweater pills! My roommate in college taught me the old trick of "shaving" them off with a disposable razor. That works well. I usually just try not to buy sweaters with material that pills easily...drives me nuts!

Does this work for knitted clothing that has fuzzy yarn? Because I have a hoodie that was knitted by my mother for me that I love... but it gets me crazy because she knit it very loose, which is cute, but it fuzzes all over the damn place!

I have one of these, though I think I bought mine for $8 on the net ages ago (it's lasted forever.) It really works well and is far more gentle than a razor. Good stuff!

You can get one of those sweater shavers from Target for $8.99 and they work great. I have had mine for close to 7 years and it still works great!

A semi dull razor works too, if you're careful. Also I have one of those de-piller machine things. Ha.
