Trend Alert: Drop Waist Dresses

Before the high waists of the 70s and the low waists of the 90s, there was the drop waist of the 20s. It seems many of you were ready for a new decade of influence and Paul Poiret's liberating style of yore is here to liberate us once again. With all the flapper-inspired gallimaufry for Fall, drop waist dresses evoke a sense of ease and sophistication - a stellar combination. If you're tired of a trapeze cut or a baby doll silhouette, try one of these streamlined dresses. Come Fall, just throw one on over a chic long sleeve tee or turtleneck; it may compel you to throw on a long strand of pearls, a pair of buckled flats, a flirty little hat and read some Emily Dickinson at your local cafe. Or maybe that's just my fantasy...

I already have a long torso, so I'd look like I have no legs at all!! I think I'll have to pass on this one...

Err... Generally, my look doesn't allow me to follow the trend.. and this time... haah I can predict my fortune that.. I will be an 'out' girl for sure. It requires alot to look goodie goodie in that.. quite agree with DarlingDA though. Mmm.. inertia reminds me of my Jap. friend.. right.. she looked so cutie cutie in that.. true.

I don't think anyone with curves looks good in them. Even super skinny girls look a little lumpy in them to me.

This style's HUGE here in Tokyo. There are many women with very narrow hips and it looks great on them. I can't wear it. My hips are medium size and the style makes me look as broad as a dinner table.

I think my hips are to big for this look.
