Trend Alert: High-Waisted Trousers

It's time ladies. It's time to say au revoir to anything low waisted — the days of baring the midriff are so over. It's time to examine your womanliness and embrace it. Oh, and your power too. High-waisted trousers are a throwback to power women, think Katherine Hepburn and Sigourney Weaver in Working Girl, minus the shoulder pads, of course. I even recently asked myself: When was the last time I bought a pair of solid, classic trousers? Now is the time.

P.S. If the trousers are cuffed, heels are a must for polished perfection!

I'd just like a happy medium between restricting my stomach and showing my ass-crack.

i like them. that 70's style. but why do men hate it? i've come across some really pissed off males, that didn't consider this style to be sexy. but most of women do. so strange. we had a riot on our website when we posted pictures of Fergie in high-waist throusers - guys went nuts.

Bad. No No, I say to the high-waisted trousers. I was so happy when they had finally gone out of style. Please leave them that way.

Oh god, no. I have a big butt and low rise pants saved me. I'm staying far away from this trend.

I'm all for the high-waisted look, for those that can pull it off. personally, i'm short without a defined waist, so i can't do the high waist - i usually do the lower (but not super low) rise.

Nope, not wearing them. They don't work on short women who have hips and no waist -- they end up under the breasts, which is not an attractive look at all. (Plus, partysugar's right, they do make the rear view look big.) :(

Oh I love them, I bought my first high waisted jeans this weekend, The Doll by J Brand, they are stunning on and I love the smooth line they create, they act like a corset, I look about 5 lbs thinner and oodles more fab in them than I do in low rise. Until Saturday I would have said that I despised this trend. So, don't judge till you've walked a mile in my groovy flares. ;)

My body type doesn't quite fit those past-the-navel pants either. If it's not flattering, don't wear it...or don't buy into the extreme. Those Marc Jacob pants look nice and wearable! 9 inch rise isn't too bad. I never could wear those ridiculously LOW LOW rise pants either. Happy Medium!
