We all know what it means when Scandal's Olivia Pope wears white. The same could be said for Valentino's army of gladiator-sandal-clad warriors, who took today's Haute Couture runway. Making white look as strong as the black and signature red designs, the Grecian goddesses made classic Mediterranean silhouettes like togas appear positively modern and entirely laid-back (that is to say, as laid-back as couture could possibly look).
And though there weren't many of the white coats Ms. Pope has become best known for, there were certainly viable options in the suiting and office dress department. Or should she seek something bolder next season? A raven-like feather coat could take Washington by storm. And the eveningwear? That's the real star of this show.
