Vera Wang is about the last designer we would imagine sending out a slogan tee, but there it was on her Fall 2014 runway: the chicest black-and-gray tee with "You Bug Me" on the front and a cicada on the back. It was pretty easy to deduce that Wang was in a playful mood for Fall. Dark florals, worn head to toe by Hanne Gaby Odiele, were a standout of the show, often paired with black ruffles and frilly sheer pieces.
Windowpane plaid turned up as well for cool, slouchy suits and long, easy dresses. Eveningwear was an all-black affair with skin peeking through lace and organza, providing the show's sole relief from inky shades. Fur added a luxe texture to the collection, while those pesky insects kept turning up in the tangled-up chain necklaces sweeping down the front of many looks. Maybe the feeling isn't mutual, but Vera, you definitely do not bug us.
