With cutouts over the chest and sheer layers galore, the Vionnet Resort 2014 collection makes a strong statement for the storied house. Madame Vionnet's signature draping is always present, but the focus is on deceptively simple shapes with nods to everything from kimonos to late-'70s wide-leg pants to art deco drawings.
The color has a swath of the omnipresent black and white, but bursts of marigold and poppy add vibrancy to the collection. Patterns are graphic and abstract with one jacquard borrowing an original '20s design of seahorses from the house. Evening pieces are as important as separates, with one-shoulder gowns leading the way to the red carpet. Click through to see the full Vionnet Resort 2014 collection.
