New York Fashion Week officially kicks off tomorrow, bringing us a first glimpse at the Spring 2012 collections. While all eyes may be on the runways, the seriously chic attendees also get lots of attention. Between celeb-studded front rows and the best street style of the year, Fashion Week is a time when our style radar is on high. It's about that time when we plan our outfits, and here are the essentials to looking chic for the week:
Loafers are the must-have shoe, we have a flat and heel version picked out.
Cropped pants are key for warmish September days, plus they show off your shoes. We have a leather and a colorblock version.
Speaking of colorblock, it's the way to work in color and it channels the season's 60s trends.
If you splurge on a dress, make sure it's a bold color or cool print. That way you won't need anything else to make a statement.
Find one or two pieces of bold jewelry, like a bib necklace or a strong cuff, to elevate outfits.
Be prepared for the weather with the right outerwear; a classic trench and tailored blazer are must haves.
Do your dry cleaning, get your mani/pedi, and have your favorite shoes re-soled in advance!
