Who Wore It Better? Fendi Fur Coat

Let's get ready to rumble . . . It's a battle between the two great Kates. Kate Bosworth wore Fendi's fur coat at the Fendi fashion show at the Great Wall of China back in October. Kate Moss got her hands on the same coat and wore it to the Led Zeppelin concert in London yesterday. Side note: I am so incredibly jealous she got to go, I love Led Zeppelin. Both ladies look avant-garde, but I'm leaning towards Kate B. because she looks more polished. Who do you think wore it better?

IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO LOOK GOOD IN REAL FUR! IT'S CRUEL & INHUMANE. ANYONE THAT WEARS IT BECOMES INSTANTLY UGLY.

That is one of the ugliest piece of clothes I've ever seen. I don't know how one can wear that. Plus is fur and those animals suffer too much for anyone to consider supporting that monstrous industry, and they both look like killers at a forest. Now I know I wont see Kate Bosworth’s movies and the other Kate I hated her already.

For me both Kates look fabulous in the same coat but in different ways. Kate b looks classy and Kate M looks the rebel. Which shows the modern versatility of furs. Like many of you I was a little worried by what I had seen plastered all over the net about furs being cruel. So I was doing a shoot for a designer who wanted me to see. I went to three SAGA farms along with 6 other models. Cruel? You must be kidding. The animals are very well housed and fed and treated. They are played with by their very caring handlers, and there are vets on site. Unlike battery farming of chickens etc, these animals cannot be kept cooped up or in together unless its a mother with kits/cubs. I wonder how many of you people here have actually visited a fur farm? Here is one, and as they point out other farmed animals will in the end benefit from their excellent welfare: http://www.stkl-fpf.fi/user_nf/default.asp?root_id=7173&site=2 Look at the animals and their handlers. I think it is totally unjustified the attacks on the fur industry and espcially people like these. I can compare their treatment to prize racehorses: http://www.stkl-fpf.fi/user_nf/default.asp?root_id=7176&ala_id=8189&site=2 In addition when there I was lucky enough to stay a few days at the Ice Hotel and then go to see a Sami festival with a close friend who is an artist and conservationist and works with them. These people are nomadic and live with reindeer and hunt fox and its all they have to sell. Their lifstyle protects the forests and many animals. I saw wolverine when we were doing the shoot. So I am a part time fashion model and fashion design student. I absolutely support fur and that is a well informed choice I can assure you. I think most of the hundreds of designers that have used it now know that fur is produced ethically compared to most animal use. Fox and mink are not endangered. I think this one is long haired goat; but I have a similar one in fox and mink which I wear and so many people have complimented me on it (especially men). So the idea that fur is ugly is quite a lie I think. I could respect someone who says well its beautiful but I would prefer the animal wasnt killed to make it" But aesthetically fur is beautiful as are all natural materials; and the touch is beautiful too. I wear mine belted like this so it is very flattering shape wise. I would also add here that synthetic materials cause far more ecological damage with oil spills and things, so do not think wearing non animal products doesnt kill animals because it does: often in a far nastier way, and often permanently where their forest are destroyed to exploit oil. Oh you didn't know that is what synthetic clothes are made of? Well yes they are. A non renewable resource: to make lots of yeuch cheap clothes that end up in landfill and take a thousand years to decompose, and has caused far more long term harm to animals. Many fur animals are actually eaten too especially rabbits and nutria and beaver. So they are no different to leather or is a cow different somehow? Not to those who think them sacred like Hindu. It's double standard hypocrisy. As long as we protect animal habitat then fur should not be an issue any more....and on farms they are bred so there is no issue about them being non renewable. As the Canadian Fur council now say, fur is the ultimate eco clothing: http://www.furcouncil.com/ecological.aspx Hopefully those with open minds will now question their prejudice against those who wear fur. Of course, if you choose to believe the propaganda what can I say? Well maybe you can consider how that propaganda is often produced: http://www.furcommission.com/news/newsC7.htm And by who: www.petakillsanimals.com/petaTrial2.cfm Yes the organisation that convinced everyone that fur was cruel have a huge budget and people imagine they look after animals for rehoming when actually they kill them and dump their bodies. I thought it was only old hippies who believed this angry animal rights stuff nowadays but I can see from the responses here that a few need their eyes opened. At the end of the day an animal does not care whether it is used for meat or leather or fur. The difference bewteen the price of a cheap chicken and a mink pelt reflects the cost of the difference in quality of welfare. And while one just supplies you with a quick meal, a fur you value for years. I know which one it was easy for me to give up; especially when I have seen both reared with my own eyes. Oh and on the who looks best thing I think marginally Kate Moss. As for you that don't like it well there is no acounting for taste but I trust Fendi's opinion and also the two Kates over you no offence. They aren't professionals for nothing and they are as I am informed about how fur is producd rather than listening to scaremongers who want to control you and have your money.

Agreed with similar comments - even if I wore fur coats, I still think it's hideous.

Eew, no please. Fendi or no, NOT my taste.

They both look horrible. Nothing like making the fashion statement that it's okay for innocent animals to be violently killed for fashion. They should hide their heads in shame. http://www.hsus.org/furfree/cruel_reality/the_cruel_reality_of_fur.html

Wow, not only is it ugly, it's totally un-PC.

I think that is an ugly coat, and I think it is sad anyone would wear real fur with so many other options available. We don't live in a society where we need to use animal skins to keep warm any more. Fur for a fashion statement makes me sad.

Kate Moss definitely looks better in the look. Kate B just looks awkward. That being said, the coat itself is hideous. Fur is gross and always looks overdone.

Although Kate's look technically is more appropriate seeing that she wore it to a Led Zeppelin concert, I still say the jacket is hideous.
