Why Women Buy So Many Shoes

Why Most of Your Shoe Collection Is Going to Waste

Are those countless unworn heels staring out at you from your closet giving you a serious case of buyer's remorse? You're not alone! According to a study just conducted by a UK money-saving website, the typical woman spends $760 amassing her shoe collection (which averages out to about 20 pairs), but ultimately wears close to five pairs on a regular basis. The study happily did the follow-up work and found that 64 percent of those polled gave the expected response of "discomfort" when explaining why they leave some pairs in the closet. With answers ranging from fashion-based styling issues to a case of unfortunate gifting, tell us where you fall in line!
